GX7 Golf Club Review
GX7 Golf Club, a golf club made for amateurs that provides for the hitting consistency of a pro.
Go to ...
We all know the hardest part of golf is consistency, especially when hitting off the tee box. This why the pros are the pros, and we are amateurs. But have you ever wondered if the reason why you are inconsistent off the tee is because you are using the same clubs as the pros, and not a club designed strictly for amateurs. Well this is the theory behind the GX7 Golf Club, a golf club made for amateurs that provides for the hitting consistency of a pro.
Key Features
- Built with a 14 Degree loft, which is more than standard drivers but less than a 3 wood, the GX7 Golf Club is designed to help you get the ball in the air while reducing the potential of a slice.
- With a club volume of 267cc, the GX7 Golf Club is large enough to provide confidence when addressing the ball.
- With a shaft length of 43”, the same as a standard 3 wood, the GX7 is designed to allow amateurs golfers to square up the clubface at impact, which helps to improve accuracy, consistency and distance.
GX7 Golf Club Detailed Review
Design and Technology
Now you may have seen the commercial on the Golf Channel, in case you missed it here it is, but the GX7 Golf Club is designed to provide the distance of a high performance driver, with the accuracy of a fairway wood, all while using your natural 7 iron swing. The heart of the GX7 Golf Club lies in its sole.
High-Density Wrap Around Bar
The trailing edge of the GX7 Golf Club is made of high density tungsten wrap around bar that serves two main purposes. First, it helps to pull the mass of the club head back and down. This motion helps to create very low center of gravity, which is ideal for creating a greater launch angle and spin rate. Second, the wrap around tungsten bar moves the mass to the perimeter of the club, which helps to raise the moment of inertia (“MOI”). This increased MOI allows for greater accuracy and forgiveness on off center shots.
An Iron Like Leading Edge
The leading edge of the GX7 Golf Club has been designed like an iron. Softly curved at the front and from heal to toe, the GX7 Golf Club can glide across the surface when hit from either the tee box or fairway. Furthermore, with a leading edge like an iron, the GXY Golf Club wont snag, dig or bounce, when hitting the ball.
No Friction Zone Behind the Leading Edge
With a “no friction zone” recessed sole behind the leading edge, the GX7 Golf Club will always stay above the ground plane. This is because the sole of the club will not be skipping off the surface of the ground when hitting through the ball, and as a result you will noresult you head sped or catch the ball thin.
Specs
The GX7 Golf Club is built with a 14 degree loft, which is 2 to 6 degrees greater than conventional drivers, and is designed to promote an ideal launch angle off the tee. With a 267cc volume, the GX7 is large enough to create an extreme MOI, but is small enough to hit the ball without a tee. The 43” shaft comes in five styles, which includes the Senior Plus Flex, Senior Flex, Regular Flex, Stiff Flex, and the Ladies Flex.

- Pretty average looking, the design is a little uninspiring and dated

GX7 Golf Club Video Review
Here is a great overview of the GX7 Driver from our friends at USGolfTV:
How Does the GX7 Golf Club Compare?
TaylorMade M3 Driver
The TaylorMade M3 Driver is one of most technologically advanced drivers ever produced and is engineered to expand the sweet spot, maximizing forgiveness, and allowing for personalized adjustment of the ball flight. It is meant to replace TaylorMade’s M1 Driver and builds on the innovations and technology that made that driver a success. See our TaylorMade M1 Driver review here to learn more. The TaylorMade M3 signature feature is its innovative new Twist Face design that uses a novel corrective curvature on the face of the club to add forgiveness and help drives go straighter. A Hammerhead slot further adds to the forgiveness while also increasing ball speed to help extend drives further down the fairway. Lastly, a new Y-Track movable weight system allows adjustments to optimize ball flight. These all combine to help get the most out of drives, making them straighter and longer than before. The TaylorMade M3 Driver is truly an amazing club that is perfect for the low to mid handicap golfer looking to improve their performance on the course.
TaylorMade M4 Driver
The TaylorMade M4 Driver is one of most technologically advanced drivers ever produced, improving power and forgiveness. As with the TaylorMade M3 Driver, it improves on the driver’s forgiveness and helps drives to go further by implementing two of the same technologies found in the M3 Driver: a new Twist Face design and a Hammerhead slot. Twist Face takes the face of the club and slightly twists it to create a bulge and roll in just the right areas to correct for human tendencies when striking the ball off-center and results in straighter drives. It is meant to replace TaylorMade’s M2 Driver and builds on the innovations and technology that made that driver a success. See our TaylorMade M2 Driver review here to learn more. The Hammerhead slot is similar to the Speed Pocket found in the M2 Driver but is further refined to increase forgiveness and ball speed, pushing drives even further down the fairway. Lastly, the M4 also features a Geocoustic design that contributes to a larger sweet spot and magnifies the sound and feel of drives. The M4 Driver is genuinely a carefully engineered club that is perfect for low to mid handicap golfer looking to improve their performance on the course while also providing the freedom that comes with not needing to adjust any weight positions.
TaylorMade Rocketballz RBZ Driver
The TaylorMade Rocketballz RBZ Driver builds on the success of its predecessor and is now longer and faster than the original Rocketballz Driver. The new Thick-Thin crown pushes the CG forward producing a higher launch, lower spin and faster ball speed. The RocketBallz RBZ Stage 2 Bonded Driver has an expanded clubface and improved aerodynamics reduces drag and promotes faster clubhead speed. With more modern design and is the perfect club for players who want high forgiveness, faster swing speeds, more distance, and lots of adjustability.
