Trident Align Detailed Review
Design and Technology
It can be difficult to tell just by pictures how the Trident Align works. Players should use the stencil provided with the Trident Align to perfectly match the markings on their golf ball with this trident shaped aid. Once the Trident Align is resting on the ground, players can remove their golf ball and begin to read their putt. As the player narrows in on their desired target line they can begin to adjust the top white alignment feature and fine-tune its aim until it is pointing at the target line. The ball is then placed back down in front of the marker and you then simply match up the lines until you see the square shape form between marker and ball. No more marking and re-marking your golf ball once you have stood over it. Trident Align is simple and literally straightforward.
Technically, the Trident Align allows golfers to achieve more accurate putting through the relationship between the three lines. Once the square shape is formed this ensures that the three lines work in unison to create aiming profiles which sets the middle line at a perfect 90-degree angle to the ground. A 90-degree position of the center line on the golf ball is crucial to ensure the aim chosen from lining up the Trident Align marker, is exactly the same line the ball is aiming on once it is placed back on the ground. This allows players to be confident they can start the golf ball more online. For example, a 2-degree tilt of the center line from this 90-degree angle can result in the line aiming outside the hole on putts from a distance 5 feet, a 1-degree tilt will mean missed putts from 8 feet, and only ½ a degree will see putts of 15 feet aimed outside of the hole.

Our Experience
Thinking about how you mark your golf ball on the green is often an afterthought. I typically carry my favorite mark from a local course or my Duke Blue Devils chip. Trident Align adds a new element to putting that I think can truly help many players. Whether it is Callaway or On Point Golf, players are beginning to see that things outside of just the golf ball and putter can influence their performances on the green.
Trident Align is simple to use and the trident shape is easy to align. The horizontal line allows you to be sure you have the ball perfectly level and the three lines point you in whatever direction you select. I also love the fact that I do not have to re-mark my golf ball to make simple adjustments as I continue to evaluate my line and putting speed.
