Both one of our writers and I have been lucky to spend some time with one of the game’s most prominent instructors, Martin Chuck.  We both agree that Martin teaching is second to none, and watching him hit a golf ball is a thing of beauty.  The guy never misses the center of the clubface.

Martin’s also the inventor of the original Tour Striker 7-iron.  Even though this training aid has been around for quite a few years, it remains one of the most popular in the game.

While the premise behind the Tour Striker 7-iron is fairly basic, it’s tremendously effective in teaching golfers how to become better ball strikers. If you’re struggling with hitting the ball flush and consistently where you want it, make sure to read this review.  We’re going to give you the nitty gritty on one of the most proven training aids of the 21st century.

Key Features

  • Training aid teaches golfers to intuitively deliver the club to impact in the proper way.
  • Club allows you to hit actual golf balls when you’re using it.
  • Training aid gives golfers exacting feedback when shots on both solid shots and mishits.

Who Should Buy the Tour Striker 7-Iron?

There isn’t a golfer on the planet that strikes the ball perfectly every time.  Martin Chuck is close, but self-admittedly, he’s far from perfect.

That’s why the Tour Striker 7-iron can be of benefit to golfers of all different playing abilities.

With some consistent practice and patience, anyone can learn to hit a golf ball just like a Tour Pro.

Design and Technology

As we stated in the opening, the design of the Tour Striker 7-iron is relatively simple.  But it’s also ingenious.

The standard length of a men’s 7-iron, it looks like any other golf club, with one major exception.  The sweet spot protrudes away from the rest of the clubface.  This is also the only part of the club with grooves.

Because of this design golfers receive immediate feedback about whether they’ve struck a shot solid, or it’s been mishit.

Unlike a lot of other training aids that involve mirrors, straps, bands, buckles, and are difficult to use, all you do is hit balls with the Tour Striker 7-iron.  With enough practice, you’ll teach yourself to deliver the club correctly at impact.  Before you know it, you’ll be striking shots solidly with both the Tour Striker 7-iron and your regular golf clubs.

Specs

The Tour Striker 7-iron is the length of a normal men’s 7-iron.  The clubhead is made of 433 stainless steel, and the True Temper steel shaft is uniflex.

Our Experience

I tried the Tour Striker 7-iron when it first came out years ago and saw almost immediate results.  It’s the one training aid I come back to whenever I’m struggling with my ball striking.

What I love most about this training aid is how simple it is to use.  There’s no multi-step process to get it set up, and there aren’t any extra attachments, bells or whistles you have to worry about.  Just take it out of your bag and start hitting balls.  It doesn’t get any simpler than that.

Conclusion
