The story of the Ping G425 Hybrid starts with the face. Facewrap design has maraging steel as the primary surface that wraps into the crown and sole. This seamless marriage increases flex for incredible ball speed on both solid shots and mishits.
In short, Facewrap means more distance.
We aren’t done with talking about the G425 face quite yet. Spinsistency deviates from the bulge and roll traditionally found on hybrids. The most significant difference is on the bottom of the face where loft becomes less. When golfers hit thin shots, this Spinsistency reduces spin while increasing ball speed. In short, thin shots become much less penal than they have been in the past.
Tungsten weighting has become all the rage in club design, and no one has taken advantage of it more than Ping. The G425 utilizes it in the sole to increase MOI and therefore forgiveness.
On the top of the G425, you’ll notice improved aesthetics too. Three dots across the center of the crown clearly mark the sweet spot and aid in alignment.
Lastly, the G425 is arguably the most adjustable hybrid to date. Trajectory Tuning 2.0 features a lightweight hosel that allows players to adjust both loft and lie. Fitting and customization are easy.

Our Experience
When hybrids first made their mark on the game some 20 years ago, I was a huge fan. They were versatile and so much easier to hit than long irons.
For one reason or another, I’ve had a harder time hitting them consistently in recent years. I have a tendency to hit them left, even when I catch them solid.
Such wasn’t the case with the G425s, however. After making some minor adjustments to the orientation, my confidence went through the roof with these clubs.
I found them to be much more forgiving than other hybrids, and their high launch proved to be a huge advantage in helping me stop them on the green.
Even though the G425s are a couple years old, they’re still some of the best hybrids available in my opinion.
