Who Should Buy The Mitsubishi MMT Graphite Iron Shaft?

Graphite iron shafts in general can reduce the impact golfers feel during practice and play and reduce the risk of elbow, wrist, and arm injuries. Golfers struggling from these injuries can switch to graphite shafts, like the MMT, and reduce pain immediately. Further, graphite shafts also offer more optimal control over weight and flex so golfers have more freedom to custom fit their preferences into their iron builds. The MMT shafts specifically balance the advantages of graphite with the structural strength of steel to deliver a seamless performance to golfers that are looking to upgrade their iron game.

Mitsubishi MMT Graphite Iron Shaft Detailed Review

Design and Technology

Blending graphite with steel in iron shafts has been attempted before. MMT is different in that braided strands of 304 stainless steel are integrated throughout the golf shaft improve strength and stability. Prepreg layers compliment the 304 stainless steel to provide a smooth feel and more response for golfers during play. Altogether, the result is a set of golf shaft tuned to fit the needs of golfers looking to play at the highest level, and with the most comfort.

Specs

To accommodate all types of club build and swing styles, MMT shafts come in a variety of compositions. MMT Taper Iron shafts produce mid to low launches and mid to low spin for golfers looking to get as close to steel as possible. MMT Iron shafts offer middle launch and middle spin and are perfect for golfers looking to increase swing speed and reduce impact forces. MMT Utility Iron shafts are designed for long irons that players use instead of hybrids. MMT Scoring Wedge shafts are designed to be built into player wedges in enhance performance. Weights range from 40 grams per shaft to 125 grams per shaft with flexes of ladies, amateur, regular, stiff, extra stiff, and tour extra stiff.

Our Experience

Understanding that graphite shafts provide the opportunity to push the boundaries of iron performance, the MMT shafts are exciting. The blend of graphite and steel in the Metal Mesh Technology design help to make the MMT shafts smooth yet stable throughout the golf swing. Compared to other high performance steel offerings, the MMT shafts are without a doubt easier to swing and provide more impact dampening when hit. I saw no performance drop offs compared to my steel gamers and actually enjoyed the sensation I got when playing golf with the MMT shafts. Golfers that struggle with injuries can definitely improve their pleasure in golf without sacrificing performance with the MMT shafts.
