You may not have heard of Clinch Golf.  I hadn’t until just a few months ago.  But as you know, I’m always on the lookout for companies in the golf space that are homegrown, passionate about what they do, and take pride in their products.

Well, Clinch Golf fits that description to a “T”.  The company was founded by a couple of golf geeks that call the Pacific Northwest home.  In the course of a given season, they play golf in every kind of condition from bone-chilling downpours to dry desert heat.  It didn’t take long for them to figure out that traditional leather golf gloves just weren’t getting the job done.

Having a background in high-performance athletic fabrics with companies like Nike and Burton, they decided to do something about the problem.  Fast forward a chapter and Clinch Golf and their Tactile glove were born.

This glove utilizes modern materials that blend the best of both worlds in terms of comfort and performance.  In fact, the Tactile quickly became my favorite glove and I can’t wait to tell you all about it in today’s review.

Key Features

  • Glove actually gives you more grip when it gets wet.
  • Material stretches, but then rebounds ensuring a snug fit for the life of the glove.
  • Fabric is incredibly breathable and accelerates dry time when the glove gets wet.

Who Should Buy the Clinch Tactile Golf Glove?

The modern design features of the Clinch Tactile glove can benefit golfers of all abilities.  It’s especially great for golfers that play in warm or wet climates or whose hands sweat easily.

In reality, the Tactile is the perfect glove for any golfer that’s tired of their traditional gloves overstretching, wearing out too quickly, and not providing the kind of ventilation they desire.

Design and Technology

Let’s be honest, there isn’t a whole lot that’s changed when it comes to golf gloves in the past couple of decades.  Sure, maybe the material has improved a little, but the traditional golf gloves of today are largely the same as they were 20 years ago.

That was until Clinch Golf and their Tactile glove came along.

This glove’s material is engineered to stretch out as you swing, giving your fingers and wrists full range of motion, but it also rebounds back to its original form.  In short, it won’t stretch out after repeated use like the traditional golf gloves we’re used to.

Most golf gloves are worthless if they get the least bit wet.  They become slippery and your ability to keep control of the club goes out the window.  Not so with the Tactile glove.  In fact, it actually gets tackier when it gets wet.  Whether you’re playing in the rain, your hands get a little sweaty on a hot day, or you get a little moisture on your hands from grabbing a cold drink, the Tactile glove becomes more tacky.

The material is also quite breathable.  I especially noticed this during my days out on the course this past summer in Arizona where temperatures are over 100 degrees more often than they’re below it.  No matter how hot the day was when I was playing, the Tactile glove kept my hand cool and comfortable.

Leather gloves can be a pain to take on and off, especially if your hand gets a little sweaty.  The Tactile glove slips on and off with ease.  Additionally, the Fast Tab allows for an especially secure fit.

I also love the fact that the Tactile glove allows you to use your phone.  That’s right, unlike leather gloves that make it next to impossible to do anything on your phone, the Tactile glove doesn’t give you the slightest bit of encumbrance.  Skip that song, send that text, do whatever you want without having to take this glove off.

Golf gloves are expensive, and it never seems like they last as long as they should.  If I get two or three rounds out of a traditional leather glove, I’m lucky.

But the Clinch Tactile glove is built to last.  That’s due in large part to the cutting-edge material that rebounds after it stretches, but also to the internal TPU overlay that maintains the glove’s structural integrity and prevents wear.

While the Tactile glove is Clinch’s trademark item, they also offer a variety of apparel items including hats, hoodies, and T-shirts.  Their accessories line boasts towels, beer chillers, ball marks, and a thermos.

Our Experience

Like I said, the Clinch Tactile glove is my new favorite glove.  Everything about it blows the competition out of the water.  I love that it gets tackier when it’s wet, that it breathes and keeps my hand cool, and that it lasts at least twice as long as traditional leather gloves.

But beyond the glove, I’ve become really close friends with the guys that started the company.  They’re hard-working, passionate about what they do, and want to share their love of golf with everyone they interact with.  Keep an eye out for Clinch Golf, their future looks abundant and bright.
