Updated April 2024 to update current pricing information.

For as long as anyone that plays golf can remember, TaylorMade has led the way in the driver game.  For seemingly decades, they’ve produced some of the hottest, most forgiving, and technologically advanced drivers in the world.  It’s no wonder everyone from rank beginners to the best players in the world choose to employ drivers made by this iconic brand.

All new for 2024 is TaylorMade’s Qi10 line of drivers.  And as you’d expect, these drivers more than live up to their hype.

While all the drivers in this family are some of the best on the market this year, it’s Qi10 LS that just might be the most advanced driver for better players in 2024.

Let’s have a closer look at why the likes of Tiger Woods and Tommy Fleetwood have chosen to put this driver in their bags this year.

Key Features

  • Deep clubface and compact clubhead profile give better players increased playability while also reducing spin.
  • Strategically placed 18-gram steel weight is positioned lower and farther forward to help high-speed swingers reduce spin for increased accuracy and consistent launch conditions.
  • 60X Carbon Twist Face reduces forward weight and maximizes the transfer of energy from the clubface to the ball at impact for faster ball speeds and increased distance.

Who Should Buy the TaylorMade Qi10 LS Driver?

If you’re just starting out with golf, carry a higher handicap, or swing the club at an average or below average rate of speed, the TaylorMade Qi10 LS driver probably isn’t for you.

It’s designed for a very specific cadre of golfers that swing the club at a high rate of speed, are elite ball strikers, and want ultimate control and workability from the tee.

Unless you find yourself in this small group of golfers, there’s a good chance another driver in TaylorMade’s Qi10 family will better suit you.

Design and Technology

When talking about the tech and design features that the Qi10 LS has, it’s tough to pick a singular place to start.

With that being said, one of the first things I noticed was the club’s multi-material construction.  The R&D team spent thousands of hours testing different materials and ultimately came up with a design that maximizes inertia.  The results more than speak for themselves in the Qi10 LS’s performance.

A key part of that construction is the Carbon Crown that covers some 97% of the club’s top.  The crown is exceptionally lightweight and allows mass to be redistributed toward the driver’s perimeter where it aids in forgiveness and stability.

An 18-gram sliding steel weight is located forward and low in the clubhead.  Not only does this help reduce spin, it allows golfers with fast swing speeds to exactingly dial in their ball flight.

Like all the drivers in the Qi10 family, the LS employs a 60X Carbon Twist Face that’s substantially lighter than the titanium faces found in other drivers.  This gives golfers explosive ball speeds while an internal support structure maintains ball speed integrity on off-center strikes.

On the whole, the Qi10 LS has an unprecedented amount of tech that’s designed to help elite players perform their best from the tee.

Specs

The TaylorMade Qi10 LS comes in lofts of 8, 9, and 10.5 degrees.  The 9 and 10-degree clubheads are available in both right and left-handed while the 8-degree model only comes in right-handed.

Lie angle can be adjusted anywhere between 54 and 58 degrees and the length is 45.75”.

The clubhead measures 460cc and the swing weight is D4.

  • Mitsubishi Tensei AV Limited Blue in regular, stiff, and extra-stiff flex
  • Mitsubishi Tensei AV Limited Black in stiff and extra-stiff flex

Our Experience

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not a consistent enough ball striker to put the TaylorMade Qi10 LS in my bag.  However, in testing I more than realized the benefits it offers better players with fast swing speeds.

I particularly like the compact head design.  When you put this driver behind the ball, it just looks like it belongs there and that gives me a ton of confidence.

The 18-gram adjustable weight also made it easy to dial in my ball flight.

But more than anything, every shot I hit came off the clubface with a lot less spin than any other driver I tested.  While that might not be ideal for me, it’s more than desirable for high-spin players that want more control.

PROS
  • Carbon Crown is extremely lightweight and increases MOI.
  • 18-gram adjustable steel weight makes it easy to optimize ball flight and launch conditions.
  • 60X Carbon Twist Face is incredibly hot and allows golfers to maximize distance.
CONS
  • It may not be the right driver for most golfers with slower swing speeds.
  • The price point is higher than other drivers in 2024.
  • The lack of a left-handed option in the 8-degree clubhead may deter some golfers.

Conclusion

TaylorMade continues to blow away the competition when it comes to drivers with their Qi10 family in 2024.

In particular, the Qi10 LS is a driver that finally gives accomplished players with fast swing speeds an option that allows them to minimize spin and maximize control without sacrificing distance.

If you’re a high-speed player who’s looking to get more out of your driver in terms of consistency and overall performance, there’s no better option this year than the TaylorMade Qi10 LS.
