We review a lot of training aids here at Golfer’s Authority.  There’s no shortage of them out there and to be honest, most don’t live up to the hype.

When I heard about the Down Under Board, I was skeptical like always.  But upon further research and trying it out for myself, it was easy to see how this training aid helps golfers get better.

The Down Under Board was designed by PGA Professional, Bradley Hughes.  He understood that the modern golf swing has players using the ground to create both speed and stability.

This is hard to do for most golfers, but the Down Under Board makes it easy.

Key Features

  • Easy adjustability makes the Board usable for any golfer.
  • Seamless setup only takes a few seconds.
  • High-quality materials stand up to abuse no matter what conditions you’re practicing in.

Design and Technology

Compared to a lot of training aids, the Down Under Board is simple in both design and function.

The Board is adjustable and fits in between your feet.  If you’re working on full-swing shots, all you have to do is assume your normal stance and place the Board between your feet to measure it for proper length.  Once you’ve found that length, two wing nuts screw into place.

With the Board in place, just squeeze it with the insides of your feet and swing.  Doing so will improve your footwork, increase rotation, and create the habits you need for a sound, repeatable motion.

The Down Under Board is made of durable plastic that’s designed to stand up to continued use.

While it was originally designed for the full swing, this training aid is perfect for practicing your chipping, pitching, and putting too.

Our Experience

One of the Teachers we regularly consult at Golfer’s Authority calls the Down Under Board “genius.”  He uses it all the time with his students and sees almost immediate results.

What he likes most about the Down Under Board is how simple it is to set up and use.  Not only that, but right away it creates the sensations amateurs need to improve their swing.

I can attest to the Down Under Board’s utility too.  The first time I used it, I immediately was able to feel how I was supposed to use my feet and legs and rotate during my swing.

Even though the new feelings took a little while to get used to the Down Under Board between my feet, once I figured it out, I saw a night and day difference.

Bottom line, the Down Under Board is one of the simplest, most effective training aids I’ve ever used.

Conclusion

For every training aid we try at Golfer’s Authority, it’s only a select few that make it to our site.  We had no hesitation telling the world about the Down Under Board though; we believe in it that much.

If you’re looking to become more consistent in every facet of your game, and don’t feel like spending hundreds of dollars on lessons, the Down Under Board is a great place to start.  Once you figure out how to use it the right way, chances are it’ll be a game changer.
