The Sunday Golf Ryder S-Class is $300, and it’s the bag Sunday Golf used to call the Leather Ryder. It’s a great walking bag, but the vegan leather is the only thing you’re paying extra for.
Is the Sunday Golf Ryder S-Class worth buying?
So here’s the first thing you need to know. There’s no Sunday Golf Leather Ryder anymore. Sunday Golf renamed it the Ryder S-Class, and not one product on their site carries the Leather Ryder name now. Search for it and the S-Class is what comes up. Same bag, new name.
And the second thing is the one that saves you money. Sunday Golf’s own FAQ asks what makes the S-Class different from the standard Ryder, and the answer is two words: the material. That’s it. So in this review I’ll tell you what the Ryder does well, where it comes up short, and which Ryder I’d actually buy.
Quick Overview
- It’s the old Leather Ryder: Sunday Golf sells it today as the Ryder S-Class, at $300 on October 20, 2026.
- Same bag as the regular Ryder: the nylon Ryder in Matte Black was $250 the same day, with the same 4.9-pound weight and 10 by 7 inch top.
- Built for walking: a backpack-style double strap, a dual-flex stand, and a flat base that sits right on a cart.
- Five-way top, up to 14 clubs: full-length dividers, but it’s snug with a full set. The Ryder 14 has a 14-way top for $270.
- Lifetime warranty on defects: it doesn’t cover normal wear and tear, misuse, or fading colors.
The Ryder S-Class is Sunday Golf's light Ryder stand bag wrapped in black vegan leather, with the same double strap and 5-way top.
- Lightweight and stylish
- Comfortable straps
- Good storage options
- Small pockets
- Thin handle
- Stand legs are less sturdy.

This is my video on the regular nylon Ryder, the bag the S-Class is built on. It isn’t an S-Class video, and the prices in it are from 2024.
The S-Class Is the Regular Ryder in Vegan Leather, and That’s the Whole Difference
This is the part that decides which Ryder you buy.
Sunday Golf lists the S-Class and the standard Ryder with the same numbers. Both are 4.9 pounds. Both are 34.5 inches tall. Both have the same 10 by 7 inch five-way top, the same 4-can Frosty Pocket, the same backpack straps, and the same rain hood. The only thing that changes is the outside. Sunday Golf builds the standard Ryder in 600D nylon and the S-Class in polyurethane leather, which is vegan leather, not real hide.
So is that worth paying more for? It comes down to one question. Do you want the look?
Because the look is real. Sunday Golf calls the black one sleek and sophisticated, and says the surface wipes clean. You can get it in black, cream, dusty pink, navy, or white. If you’re tired of carrying a walking billboard, this is a sharp-looking bag.
But if you don’t care about the finish, you’re paying extra for nothing you’ll use on the course. On October 20, 2026, Sunday Golf had the S-Class at $300 and the Ryder in Matte Black at $250. The nylon bag does every single job the S-Class does. So the S-Class is a style purchase, plain and simple.
It’s Built for Walking Nine, and That’s Where It Earns Its Money
I’m going to be honest with you. I hate carrying a heavy golf bag, especially when I have to walk nine holes. Don’t get me wrong, I love my minimal bags and my Vessel golf bags, but some days I just want to bring a lightweight bag to the course.
That’s the job the Ryder was made for. Sunday Golf lists it at 4.9 pounds, and that’s light for a bag that holds 14 clubs.
The strap system is a backpack-style double strap, so the weight sits on both shoulders instead of hanging off one side. When I reviewed the nylon Ryder, that self-balancing double strap was the first thing I called out, because it makes the bag super easy to carry. The S-Class uses the same strap system.
The stand is a dual-flex setup, and the base is flat, so the bag stands up on its own and sits right on a golf cart or a push cart. Sunday Golf says every Ryder works on both, and you can lock the legs in under the elastic cord at the base so they stay put while you ride. There’s a built-in carry handle for pulling it out of the trunk, too.
The Frosty Pocket and Full-Length Dividers Are What You’ll Use Every Round
The Ryder has the pockets you actually reach for on the course, plus a cooler and a smell-proof pocket.
Start with the insulated Frosty Pocket. Sunday Golf rates it at four cans. In my video on the regular Ryder, I said that pocket was so big you could actually fit four cans in it, and it’s way bigger than the one on the Loma XL. Same pocket on the S-Class.
Then there’s a velour-lined valuables pocket for your phone and keys, an apparel pocket where the rain hood lives, a ball pocket on the front, and a smell-proof pocket. Sunday Golf built that last one for anything you’re bringing on the course that needs a lighter, and it doubles as a spot for tees and ball markers. You also get an umbrella holder, a Velcro glove holder, a tee holder, and water-resistant zippers.
Now, the dividers. Personally, I can’t stand when my clubs get tangled inside a stand bag. The Ryder’s dividers run the full length of the bag, so your grips aren’t fighting each other at the bottom. Every Sunday Golf bag is built that way.
So think about what you actually carry. If it’s balls, tees, a glove, a phone, a layer, and a drink, the Ryder has you covered.
The Lifetime Warranty Covers Defects, Not Fading
Sunday Golf backs every Ryder with a lifetime warranty, and the fine print matters on this bag.
The Ryder S-Class comes with a lifetime warranty against defects in materials or workmanship, starting from the date you buy it. If it breaks or fails to perform the way it should, Sunday Golf says it’ll replace it free of charge. You email support with a photo of the damage, and there’s nothing to register ahead of time. Bought it from another retailer? You’re still covered with a valid proof of purchase. Bags from eBay or Facebook Marketplace aren’t.
Now, here’s the line to read twice. The warranty doesn’t cover natural wear and tear, mishaps or misuse, or fading colors. On a bag you’re buying for the finish, fading is the thing you’d worry about. So keep it out of a hot trunk when you can.
Sunday Golf also sells separate accident insurance if you want coverage for damage that isn’t a defect, like the bag getting run over in the parking lot. And Sunday Golf’s FAQ gives you 45 days to return or exchange it, so if the top is too tight for your grips, you’ve got time to send it back. Just know a personalized bag is final sale.
Which Ryder Should You Actually Buy?
Here’s how the Ryder family and the Callaway Summit stack up.
| Bag | Price (October 20, 2026) | Listed weight | Top | Who it’s for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ryder (nylon), Matte Black | $250 | 4.9 lbs | 5-way | Anyone who doesn’t need the leather look |
| Ryder 14 | $270 | 6.2 lbs | 14-way | Golfers with midsize or jumbo grips |
| Sunday Golf Ryder S-Class | $300 | 4.9 lbs | 5-way | Walkers who want the vegan leather look |
| Callaway Summit Collection Canvas Stand Bag | $434.99 | 5 lbs | 4-way | Golfers who want 10 pockets |
Here’s how I’d buy it.
You just want a great walking bag: get the regular Ryder. It’s the same bag without the vegan leather, for less money.
You play midsize or jumbo grips: get the Ryder 14. It’s cheaper than the S-Class, and Sunday Golf says its 14-way top takes grips up to 1.25 inches. It’s heavier at 6.2 pounds, so that’s the trade.
You want the leather look and you walk: that’s the S-Class. It costs a lot less than the Callaway Summit, which has 10 pockets and carbon fiber legs at $434.99.
You want a step up in build and feel: that’s where Vessel comes in, and I break down the whole lineup in my best Vessel golf bags guide.
If you’re still deciding between Sunday bags, my best Sunday golf bags roundup covers the Loma, El Camino, and the rest of the lineup. And if you’re stuck on the top, my 5-way vs 14-way golf bag breakdown settles it.
What I Don’t Love
The five-way top is the thing I’d want you to know before you buy. It’s 10 by 7 inches split five ways, so with a full set you’ve got about three clubs to a slot. With standard grips that works. But if you run midsize or jumbo grips, Sunday Golf itself tells you to bag up, and for the Ryder that means the Ryder 14.
The other one is the fading exclusion. You’re paying $50 more for a finish, and the one thing the warranty won’t cover is that finish losing its color.
And look, Sunday bags aren’t the most technologically advanced bags on the market. They were never meant to be. They’re built to be functional, stylish, and affordable.
The Ryder S-Class is Sunday Golf's light Ryder stand bag wrapped in black vegan leather, with the same double strap and 5-way top.
- Lightweight and stylish
- Comfortable straps
- Good storage options
- Small pockets
- Thin handle
- Stand legs are less sturdy.
Who It’s For
Buy it if:
- You walk or push a cart and want a light, double-strap full-size bag.
- You want the vegan leather look without paying top dollar.
- You carry the basics, not a pro shop’s worth of accessories.
- You want a lifetime warranty on defects behind your bag.
Skip it if:
- You don’t care about the leather finish. Buy the regular Ryder and save the difference.
- You play midsize or jumbo grips and want every club in its own slot. Get the Ryder 14.
- You want 10 pockets and a 4-way top, like the Callaway Summit.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happened to the Sunday Golf Leather Ryder?
Sunday Golf renamed it. The Leather Ryder is now sold as the Ryder S-Class, and it’s the same full-size stand bag: a five-way top, the Frosty Pocket, the backpack straps, and the lifetime warranty. It sold for $300 at Sunday Golf on October 20, 2026, in five colors.
Is the Ryder S-Class real leather?
No. It’s PU, a synthetic polyurethane material, where the standard Ryder uses 600D nylon. The S-Class finish is water-resistant with an easy-clean surface. That material is the only thing separating it from the regular Ryder.
How much does the Sunday Golf Ryder S-Class weigh?
Sunday Golf lists the Ryder S-Class at 4.9 pounds, the same as the standard nylon Ryder. The Ryder 14, with its 14-way top, is bigger and weighs 6.2 pounds. For a bag that holds a full 14-club set, 4.9 pounds is light enough to carry for nine or 18.
Can you use the Ryder S-Class on a push cart or golf cart?
Yes. The flat base sits right on a riding cart or a push cart, and Sunday Golf lists it as golf cart approved. Strap it on, secure the stand legs with the cord, and ride. The rain hood comes inside the apparel pocket if the weather turns.
How do I make a warranty claim with Sunday Golf?
Email [email protected] with a picture of the damaged bag, and Sunday Golf will repair or replace it if it’s a defect. You don’t have to register anything first. Bags bought from another retailer qualify with proof of purchase, but wear and tear, misuse, and fading colors aren’t covered.
Final Thoughts: Sunday Golf Ryder S-Class Review
If the vegan leather look is worth $50 to you, buy the S-Class. If it isn’t, grab the regular Ryder in Matte Black for $250. And if your grips are big, go straight to the Ryder 14. The S-Class link is in the box above.
