I was on the edge of my seat for hours during the 2020 PGA Championship. Colin Morikawa stole the show, and when he drove the green on a short par four on the back nine on Sunday, I was in awe of how impressive that shot was. Especially since I’ve been fortunate enough to play that same hole a couple of times.
One of the most revered daily fee facilities on the West Coast, TPC Harding Park presents a stern test for even the most discerning golfers.
This course is long, especially since it plays at sea level where the air is heavy, and the ball doesn’t travel. When you play here, it’s recommended to play up a set of tees from where you normally would.
You’ll want to make a point to leave the ball below the hole too. The greens have plenty of slope and putting downhill is a scary proposition.
If you have the chance to play just one round in San Francisco, it should be at Harding Park.
