The Bridgestone e6 is a soft, easy-to-launch value ball, and for a lot of everyday golfers that's exactly the right ball. But the 2023 e6 has been replaced, so here's who should still play it and what I'd buy today.

Is the Bridgestone e6 Golf Ball worth buying?

So here's what you need to know first. There's more than one e6. This review covers the plain 2023 Bridgestone e6, the one that launched in January 2023. In 2025, Bridgestone brought out the e6 Soft, and today Bridgestone's lineup lists the e6 Soft and the e6 Treadline, not the plain e6.

When I checked on October 12, 2026, Amazon.com was still selling new dozens of the 2023 e6 in White at $23.99. The e6 Soft was $23.99 a dozen at Bridgestone and Golf Galaxy that same day. So I'll tell you what the e6 does well, where it falls short, and why the e6 Soft is the easier buy right now.

Quick Overview

  • Two-piece ball: a large, soft gradient core with a seamless Surlyn cover.
  • Built for regular swing speeds: Bridgestone made it for golfers who don't have Tour-level speed.
  • Distance and easy launch are the point: it's a value distance ball, not a spin ball.
  • Less greenside spin than a urethane ball: playable around the greens, but it won't stop like a Pro V1.
  • Replaced by the e6 Soft: it was the same $23.99 a dozen when I checked on October 12, 2026, and it's the one I'd buy today.

This video isn't an e6 test, and the e6 isn't in it. It's my list of the balls I'd buy this year, and the Bridgestone ball on it is the e9, another two-piece ball from the same e series.

The e6 Is Built for Golfers Who Don't Swing Like Tour Players

Here's the thing about golf balls. Most golfers are playing a ball built for a swing they don't have. The e6 goes the other way. Bridgestone built it for golfers who don't have Tour-level swing speed, which is most of us.

It's a two-piece ball. There's a big, soft gradient core in the middle and a Surlyn cover wrapped around it. That's a simple setup, and it's simple on purpose. A soft core is easier to compress when you're not swinging 110, so you get more out of the swing you've actually got. And that's what makes it easy to launch.

Now, the other thing a two-piece Surlyn ball does is spin less. Off the tee, that's a good thing for a lot of golfers. Less spin usually means less curve on a slice or a hook, and more roll once it lands. So if your miss is a ball that balloons and curves into the trees, a lower-spinning ball can help keep it in play.

I'm not going to give you a magic swing speed number. Bridgestone doesn't publish one for this ball. What I'd tell you is this. If you're a moderate or slower swinger, the e6 is right in your wheelhouse. If you swing hard and fast, you'll probably get more out of a firmer ball. And if you want to understand why a two-piece ball plays so differently from a tour ball, my 2-piece vs 3-piece golf balls guide breaks it down.

You Give Up Some Wedge Spin, and for Most Golfers That's a Fair Trade

This is the part you need to be honest with yourself about. The e6 isn't a spin ball.

Around the greens, it's playable. It feels soft off the putter, and chips and pitches are easy to manage. But a Surlyn cover doesn't grab the grooves like urethane. So a short pitch is going to release more, and you won't get that one-hop-and-stop you see from a tour ball.

So who cares about that? If you're shooting in the 70s and you're firing at tucked pins with a wedge, you do. You should be looking at a urethane ball. But if you're a mid or high handicapper, the ball stopping a few feet sooner isn't what's costing you strokes. Getting it in the fairway and not losing it is.

And then there's the price. On October 12, 2026, a new dozen of the 2023 e6 in White was $23.99 at Amazon.com. That's a lot less than you'll pay for a premium tour ball. If you lose three or four balls a round, that difference adds up fast. With the e6, you're not scared to hit driver on a tight hole because you're worried about losing an expensive ball.

The Surlyn cover is part of why value balls like this hold up. It's not indestructible, though. Cart paths, trees, and sharp wedge grooves will scuff it, so don't expect one ball to last all season.

The 2023 e6 Has Been Replaced, So Here's What I'd Buy Today

The plain 2023 e6 isn't Bridgestone's current model anymore. Bridgestone's named replacement is the e6 Soft, which came out in 2025. Bridgestone calls it the longest and softest-feeling ball in the e6 franchise.

It's still a two-piece ball with a soft Surlyn cover, and it's built for the same golfer. On October 12, 2026, the e6 Soft was $23.99 a dozen at Bridgestone, so you're not paying more for the newer ball. That's why I'd buy the e6 Soft today. You get the current version for basically the same money.

Now, if you still want the 2023 e6, you can find it. On October 12, 2026, Amazon.com had the 2023 e6 in White new at $23.99 a dozen. Just check the listing closely. Online listings can mix the 2023 e6 and the e6 Soft together, and it's easy to order one and get the other. That's why my buy links go to the exact 2023 dozen instead of an e6 search. And don't confuse either one with the e6 Treadline. That's a separate ball, not the replacement.

Here's how the e6 stacks up against the other soft value balls in the same price range. Prices checked October 12, 2026.

Ball Type Price (per dozen)
Bridgestone e6 (2023, White) Two-piece Surlyn, soft distance ball $23.99, new at Amazon.com
Bridgestone e6 Soft Two-piece Surlyn, current replacement $23.99
Titleist TruFeel Soft two-piece value ball $25.00
Srixon Soft Feel Two-piece, 58 compression $24.99
Callaway Supersoft Soft distance ball $26.99
Bridgestone e12 Straight Built to reduce side spin $29.99

They're all within a few bucks of each other, and the e12 Straight is the priciest of the bunch. So pick the one that feels best to you and buy a dozen. If a big slice is your biggest problem, the e12 Straight is Bridgestone's step up for that. What I Don't Love

The name is a mess. There's the 2023 e6, the e6 Soft, and the e6 Treadline, and the plain e6 isn't even in Bridgestone's lineup anymore. If you're buying online, read the listing carefully so you know which ball is actually showing up at your door.

The short game is the other catch. It's a Surlyn ball, so you won't get the stopping power of a urethane tour ball. If you rely on spinning wedges to hold firm greens, this ball is going to frustrate you.

And if you swing fast, it's probably not your ball. A soft two-piece ball is built for regular swing speeds. Faster swingers usually get more out of something firmer.

Who It's For

Buy it if:

  • You have a moderate or slower swing speed.
  • You lose a few balls a round and don't want to pay tour-ball prices.
  • You want a soft feel and easy launch off the tee.
  • You care more about hitting fairways than stopping wedges.

Skip it if:

  • You swing fast and want a firmer ball.
  • You need urethane-level spin to hold greens.
  • You want the current model. Buy the e6 Soft instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Bridgestone e6 golf balls good?

Yes, for the right golfer. The e6 is a soft two-piece ball that's easy to launch. On October 12, 2026, the 2023 e6 in White was $23.99 a dozen, new at Amazon.com. It's a great fit for moderate and slower swing speeds. It doesn't spin like a urethane tour ball around the greens, so it's not the pick for low handicappers who rely on wedge spin.

Is the Bridgestone e6 discontinued?

The plain 2023 e6 is no longer in Bridgestone's current lineup. Bridgestone replaced it with the e6 Soft in 2025, which was $23.99 a dozen at Bridgestone on October 12, 2026. You can still find some 2023 e6 stock, but check the listing so you know which generation you're getting.

What swing speed is the Bridgestone e6 for?

Bridgestone built the e6 for golfers who don't have Tour-level swing speed, but it doesn't publish an exact swing speed range. As a rule, moderate and slower swingers get the most out of it. Fast swingers usually do better with a firmer ball.

What's the difference between the Bridgestone e6 and e6 Soft?

The e6 Soft is the 2025 replacement for the plain e6. Both are two-piece balls with Surlyn covers built for regular swing speeds. The e6 Soft uses a new soft fast core, and Bridgestone says it's the longest and softest-feeling ball in the e6 line. On October 12, 2026, the e6 Soft was $23.99 a dozen at Bridgestone, and the 2023 e6 in White was $23.99 at Amazon.com.

Where can I buy Bridgestone e6 golf balls?

On October 12, 2026, the current e6 Soft was $23.99 a dozen at Bridgestone and Golf Galaxy. Amazon.com had the 2023 e6 in White at $23.99 too. Listings can mix the two generations, so read the title and photos before you order.

Final Thoughts: Bridgestone e6 Golf Ball Review

The e6 did exactly what it was built to do. Soft feel, easy launch, and a price that doesn't make you cringe every time you hit one in the water. If you're a regular swing speed golfer, it's a smart ball to play. Just buy the e6 Soft. Same idea, same price, and it's the current model.
