Tour Edge Exotics C721 Driver Review
The word on the street is that the C721 driver is one of the lowest spinning drivers to hit the shelves in 2021. However, it’s also one of the most playable.
I’ll be the first to admit that the driver is a little out there when it comes to looks. The crown looks lime something out of Star Trek. But the club flat out performs, feels good, and sounds great.
Most of all, it’s undeniably one of the hottest drivers available for this year.

Tour Edge Exotics is a brand you’ve probably heard of at some point. No, it doesn’t have the notoriety of the Callaways and TaylorMades of the world, but you’re probably aware that they make some decent golf equipment. In fact, their stuff has solidified itself on the 50 and over circuit in a big way.
While the company makes irons, they’re largely known for their exceptionally hot woods and drivers.
That’s certainly the case with their newest release of the C721 driver.
Key Features
- Ridgeback Technology in the crown provides more distance on solid strikes while increasing face flex on off center hits.
- Diamond Face 2.0 Technology creates variable thickness for faster ball speeds and a larger sweet spot.
- Introduction of carbon wings in the crown reduces mass and moves the CG low and further back in the club for more forgiveness.
Who Should Buy the Tour Edge Exotics C721 Driver?
Golfers of all ability levels that want explosive distance without sacrificing forgiveness will benefit from everything the C721 has to offer.
Just because this driver is one of the lowest spinning options on the market, doesn’t mean it’s just for good players.
Through thinking a little outside the box, Tour Edge’s club engineers have found a way to give players the best of both worlds in terms of both forgiveness and distance.

Design and Technology
There’s no shortage of design and technology features to discuss in the C721. So, we’d might as well dive right in.
The face is the real story with just about any driver, and that’s certainly the case with the C721. Diamond Face Technology creates seven different thicknesses that are strategically placed across the face to maximize ball speed, no matter the strike. Additionally, there are 43 diamonds behind the face. Each one effectively acts as a sweet spot. Reduced face thickness overall, compared to previous models, creates more ball speed and therefore distance.
An adjustable rear weight creates a lower CG for optimal launch conditions. This gives players the ability to customize the club to their specific swing.
The story gets really interesting when we start talking about Dual Carbon Wings and Ridgeback Technology in the crown. The ridgeback is a spine that wraps around the entire head to create stability, even for players with the fastest of swing speeds.
On either side of the Ridgeback, you find a lightweight carbon wing. By taking mass away from the exterior of the crown, Tour Edge is able to focus it in the center of the face where it matters most.
Drivers of today make all kinds of different sounds from solid “whacks” to loud “tings”. Regardless, sound is important for players in feeling confident about the club they have in their hands. That’s why the C721 has five Sound Diffusion Panels that give golfers the sound they’re looking for.
Specs
The C721 comes in lofts of 9.5, 10.5, 10.5 LH, and 12 degrees of loft. Length is 45.5.” and lie angle is 60 degrees.
Stock shaft options include the Fujikara Air Speeder 35 and 40; Fujikara Ventus 4T Core 50 and 60; Projecct X HZRDUS Smoke Blue RDX 60 and 70; Project X HXRDUS Smoke Black RDX 60 and 70.
Our Experience
I’ve long been a fan of Tour Edge Exotics fairway woods. A number of them have been in my bag over the years and they are great clubs.
So, when it came time to hit the C721, my expectations were high. And boy, did this club deliver. When I looked at my numbers on a launch monitor, my spin rate went down, and my distance increased by a few yards.
While the club is a little funky to look at, I was impressed by its stability through impact and ease of adjustability.
It’s not hard to see why the C721 has gained so much popularity on the PGA Tour Champions.
- Modern technology and design provide the very best in both distance and forgiveness.
- Diamond Face Technology is not only hot, it maximizes performance on strikes all across the face.
- Plenty of stock shaft options make fitting a breeze.
- Crown design aesthetics might be tough to look at for some players.
- Limited loft options for left-handed golfers might be a limiting factor.
- Shipping times have been inconsistent due to high demand and logistics circumstances.
Conclusion
Tour Edge has quietly flown under the radar for some 35 years. That doesn’t mean in the slightest that their equipment is subpar, however.
The C721 is just the latest iteration of a club that can benefit just about any golfer.
If you’re a believer in technology, and want to improve your game off the tee, I suggest you give the Tour Edge Exotics C721 driver a try.
