TaylorMade M6 Driver Detailed Review
Design and Technology
Engineers repositioned 54% more carbon in the M6 than in the M4 to produce the Inertia Generator. This redistribution of weight makes the M6 more forgiving and more aerodynamic than any other driver TaylorMade has produced. TaylorMade claims that everyone gets faster due to its proprietary process of optimizing every driver using its tuning resin injection.
The M6 driver is perfect for players looking for great ball speeds and more distance in a simplified package. The M6 is forgiving thanks to Hammerhead 2.0 and ideal for players that strike the golf ball across the face due to the higher lofted toe and lower lofted heel of the Twist Face design. The large foot print and sharp silver to black contrast make the M6 easy to align and is confidence inspiring for golfers of any ability.
During my testing with TaylorMade for the M6 driver I was immediately surprised by how forgiving this driver is. Miss-strikes in the toe and heel seemed to retain ball speed and managed to stay closer to the fairway. The M6 is unique in its ability to be forgiving in a relatively low-spin model. I believe that the M6 will be TaylorMade’s best-selling product due to its diverse performance. The M6 is long no matter what speed you swing at and it is much more stable than the M5.
I quickly felt confident and relaxed with the M6 driver. I was set to a usual position of 10.5-degrees dialed down to 9.25 with a slightly open club face. My miss is to the left and using the loft sleeve to manipulate my shot shape is invaluable for my confidence in my swing. Tensei CK Pro Orange in the 70TX model was my shaft of choice with my typical Tour Velvet grip. The M6 is a driver that I instantly loved and much preferred over the less forgiving M5 model.
