The Talon Course at Grayhawk is a strong test of desert golf. Surrounded by the Sonoran Desert and built into box canyons, this course is a must play. If it’s your first time, don’t let the narrow look off the tees fool you. There’s plenty of room, even though you can’t see it.
Even though its features are less dramatic, the Tom Fazio-designed Raptor course is a treat to play as well. Spread over natural arroyos with generous fairways, most golfers should feel comfortable getting to the green.
That’s where the fun begins though. These greens are some of the biggest in Arizona and gentle but large undulations make for some tough two-putts.
Both courses rank high on countless lists of best places to play and it’s not hard to see why.
