Updated February 2024 to update current pricing information.

Ping is coming off its most successful driver lineup in company history. The G400 won countless awards and was adopted by Ping Staff and non-contracted Tour players alike. The G410 driver line up packs movable weight technology around one of the longest and most forgiving drivers in golf. The G410 Plus and SFT feature internalized Dragonfly aerodynamics and a forged face for faster ball speeds. Ping is remarkable at creating products that shine in the hands of golfers of all abilities. Already in the bags of some of the PGA Tour’s biggest names, the G410 looks to build on the success of its predecessor.

Ping G410 Driver Detailed Review

Design and Technology

The G410 driver is built for speed, forgiveness, and ultimate adjustability. Everything Ping engineers packed into the G410 improved on the model of G400. Internal Dragonfly, the fast-forged face, and aerodynamic shape players more clubhead speed, more ball speed, and more forgiveness. The G410 Plus and SFT are designed to replace the standard G400 and G400 SFT. The G400 LST and Max still stand as perfect compliments for a complete driver range. To Ping’s own admission, it just could not beat the LST or Max in terms of performance and it only releases products when they are better.

The Ping G410 Plus and SFT come standard in 455 cubic centimeter head sizes. These smaller head sizes give players more speed while the rear and low center of gravity maximize forgiveness and moments of inertia. Around the perimeter of the back of G410, a new movable weight has been introduced by Ping for the first time ever. By placing this weight as far back as possible, Ping has given players the ability to dial in their preferred shot shape without sacrificing MOI as other companies must.

Having played the G400 Max for a complete season I am highly familiar with the quality of Ping drivers and metal woods. My expectation of the G410 Plus was that I may see benefits from the ability to adjust the lie of the driver to help eliminate my overdraws without giving up any of my distance or accuracy.
I loved the new look of the internalized Dragonfly crown. The streamlined shape and confidence inspiring profile helped me feel at home quickly with this club. I played this driver in the same shaft as my Max, the Tensei CK Pro Orange 70TX. I found that the Flat setting of the new trajectory tuning hosel really allowed me to swing freely without fearing the left miss. Of all the drivers I have tested this year, the G410 is one of my favorites.

Specs

The Ping G410 replaces the standard G400 and the G400 SFT. The G410 Plus is the new standard option and the G410 SFT continues a similar name as before. The G410 Plus model is available in both left- and right-hand configurations. Lofts come in either 9-, 10.5-, or 12-degree settings with 8 total changes on each hosel. The movable weight can be placed in either of three positions to give players the ability to create neutral, fade, or draw bias centers of gravity in each club. G410 SFT comes in 10.5-degrees of loft with the weight stationary in the heel for players struggling with slices.

G410 Plus comes with stock shaft offering in 50-, 60-, and 70-gram ranges. The Alta CB 55 Red is available for players wanting a lighter feel and more launch. The Mitsubishi Tensei CK Orange 60 and Ping Tour 173-65 are available for players looking for lower launch and more distance. The Project EvenFlow Black 75 fits players looking for a better feel in a heavier shaft. The SFT head is available in either the Alta CB 55 Red or the Ping Tour 173-65 but each model offers Ping’s expansive custom option chart for little to large upcharges.

Conclusion

The G410 driver gives players the same great performance as the G400 lineup. The G410 Plus offers players the largest array of the custom loft, lie, and shot shape option in Ping storied history. The G410 Plus is designed specifically for the golfer who wants to sacrifice nothing in performance and forgiveness but dial in their shot shapes. Ping has created a driver that combines industry-leading MOI, movable center of gravity locations, and the only driver that offers golfers the ability to manipulate the club lie truly independent of club face loft. The G410 Plus and SFT are a club fitter and golfer’s dream if they admire precision shot control.
