Bushnell Wingman View Golf Speaker Review
If you’ve never tried playing some tunes out on the course, you should. It helps everyone relax and makes the overall experience that much more fun. With the Bushnell Wingman View, you can play music and get yardages at the same time. If that doesn’t sound like a winning combination to you, I don’t know what does.
Years ago, I never thought I’d see the day when music was being played on the golf course. When I grew up playing with my dad, the golf course was a place meant to quiet conversation within your group and deathly silence whenever someone was hitting a shot.
But that was a long time ago, and things sure have changed. Golf has grown in popularity, and the atmosphere and on-course experience have become a lot more laid back than they used to be. And music is now the norm, not the exception.
When I first started playing music on the golf course, I just used my iPhone. But I quickly found that it couldn’t put out the sound that I wanted.
So, I did some research and came across the Bushnell Wingman View golf speaker.
Not only does this speaker put out one heck of a clear sound, it gives you yardages too. That’s right, music and perfect yardages at the same time!
This speaker is really cool, so let’s not waste any more time and get to jamming.
Key Features
- Speaker comes preloaded with more than 36,000 courses so there’s no having to constantly download new ones.
- Yardages to front, back, middle of green, and hazard yardages are all displayed visually and auditorily.
- Removable remote allows you to operate the speaker from a distance.
Who Should Buy the Bushnell Wingman View Golf Speaker?
The answer to this question is pretty simple: anyone who likes listening to music on the golf course and wants yardages to all the important points of interest on the course at the same time.
You don’t need to be a tech expert to use the Wingman view either. Its functions are super simple and setup is basically effortless
Design and Technology
I know I said the Wingman View was super easy to use, and that’s true. But that doesn’t at all mean it’s lacking when it comes to cool tech and design features.
The first thing that jumps out to me is the fact that this GPS speaker comes preloaded with more than 36,000 courses. A lot of GPS units require you to download courses every time you go someplace new. Not so with the Wingman View. Any time you pull up to the course, just turn on the speaker and it will automatically recognize where you’re at.
The Wingman View gives you yardages to the front, middle, and back of every green, as well as up to six yardages to hazards and doglegs per hole. These are given auditorily through the speaker, and on an LCD display. To get yardages, just press the button on the remote. It’s as simple as that.
Another really cool feature of the Wingman View is its ability to give you customized first tee introductions and sound bites throughout your round. I’ve been using this feature with my regular group, and everyone loves it.
Even though its size is compact, you’ll never have to worry about losing the Wingman View. That’s because it comes with an integrated Bite cart magnet that attaches securely to any metal surface. Even if you take your cart over uneven terrain, you won’t have to worry about the speaker shaking loose.
The speaker’s remote is removable too. It’s small and easily fits right in your pocket. This makes it easy to operate the speaker even when you’re a distance away.
When you buy the Bushnell Wingman View, I highly recommend downloading the Bushnell Golf app as well. The app enhances your experience by offering all kinds of additional features to improve your game. It also makes GPS updates a piece of cake.
Let’s say you’ve got additional electronics you want to charge up while you’re out on the course. The Wingman View makes it easy with its built-in USB port.
Lastly, the speaker comes with a one-year warranty that protects you against any manufacturer faults or defects.
Specs
The Bushnell Wingman View measures 7.3” high, by 3.2” wide, by 3.1” deep. It only weighs 23 ounces.
Its rechargeable lithium-ion battery lasts up to 10 hours. That should be plenty of time for 36 holes.
The speaker is also rated IPX6 water resistant.
Our Experience
I’ve become a huge fan of playing music out on the golf course. The genre depends on the mood of the group, but being able to drop a beat makes the round light-hearted and a lot more enjoyable.
While playing music on my iPhone was cool, the sound just wasn’t loud enough to carry outside the cart. And on a windy day, forget it.
Now that I’ve got the Bushnell Wingman View GPS speaker, I don’t have any problem playing music that the entire group can hear. Even better, I don’t have to worry about hunting down yardages anymore either. I just press the button on the remote, and the speaker tells me everything I need to know.
Conclusion
If you’ve never tried playing some tunes out on the course, you should. It helps everyone relax and makes the overall experience that much more fun.
With the Bushnell Wingman View, you can play music and get yardages at the same time. If that doesn’t sound like a winning combination to you, I don’t know what does.
