Titleist Vokey SM8 Wedges

SM8 features a reimagined progressive center of gravity, which produces the most accurate and forgiving Titleist Vokey golf wedge yet. Using tungsten weights and varied hosel lengths, the Titleist Vokey wedge R&D team has moved the center of gravity outside of the golf wedge head and placed it in front of the face, resulting in increased MOI and exceptional feel. For the golfer, this means optimized ball flight and a club face that simply wants to square up at impact. SM8 accomplishes all of this while preserving the classic Titleist Vokey head shape players demand. This wedge use true temper dynamic gold shafts.

SM8 wedge grooves are meticulously engineered through a proprietary Milled Spin technology to maximize spin and durability. The process starts by cutting the face perfectly flat with a high speed saw. Then every groove is individually cut based on loft and finish; low lofts (46°-54°) are designed with narrower, deeper grooves, while higher lofts and high bounce(56°-62°) have wider, shallower grooves similar to quad cut grooves. Variety of loft options. Micro-grooves are individually cut in between grooves, which maximize spin on partial shots. A proprietary heat treatment is applied to the impact area which doubles the durability of the groove without impacting feel making it the most durable groove in golf. The process is only complete when every groove on every golf wedge head is 100% inspected for conformity to the rules of golf.

Callaway Mack Daddy CB Wedge

The new Mack Daddy CB Wedge features a hollow back design that improves forgiveness, control, and spin for better consistency around the green. Because of the deep cavity back, slightly larger head, and thicker topline, you’ll have the confidence of an iron while maintaining the control of a wedge.

For increased uniformity, there are two sole grind options. In the lower lofts, a large sole promotes effortless, iron-like turf engagement. In mid and higher lofts, the redesigned W Grind increases bounce for additional forgiveness out of bunkers and heavy rough.

Mizuno T20 Wedge

Mizuno’s Grain Flow Forged HD method is ideal for making wedges because of its precision and feel. A reputation most typically associated with Mizuno irons – but one that pays off even greater with the wedges, where feel and touch are most important.

Boron-infused 1025 billets are more durable, resulting in longer-lasting grooves and consistent spin. For partial shots around the green, T20’s higher lofted wedges have a wider, shallower groove. Our lower lofted variants, on the other hand, offer a deeper, narrower groove that is more suited to full shots. All of the components were precision machined to ensure a predictable and consistent spin.

Cleveland CBX 2 Wedges

Sequels usually let you down. This CBX 2 line won’t. And that’s because it pretty much guarantees you’ll hit the sweet spot. How’d we do it? A lighter hosel, a tapered flange, a wider toe, and our totally new Hollow-Cavity back design. It’s a holistic approach that moves the center of gravity, placing it right where you hit the ball. That means straighter shots that go farther and feel better. Basically, it’s off-the-charts forgiveness and buttery softness. So, yeah, kind of a big deal. Tour level wedge great for full swings. This Cleveland CBX wedge has cleveland smart sole.

Before you ask, yeah, this CBX 2 wedge has spin. It’s got zip grooves on top of grooves on top of grooves for that one-hop-stop spin you can only get with Rotex. And this latest 4th generation Rotex Face is our best yet. Extra sharp Tour Zip Grooves cut though grass and debris for more spin from the rough. Centered Rotex Milling adds friction between the grooves for even more spin. And Laser Milling increases roughness right up to the limit for unreal stopping power.

When Do You Use A Wedge?

Golf Wedge

When to use a different wedges is as simple as when you are approaching the green from distances within your 9-iron carry and as complicated as choosing the wedge with the right sole grind for a 50 yard bunker shot and for chip shots. Ensuring that every wedge in your bag is built for maximum playability is your best chance to make you are never caught without an option to attack a pin.

Finding the Right Wedge for Your Golf Game

Finding the right wedge for your bag involves choosing a loft that goes the appropriate distance when struck with full shots, making sure that you are comfortable hitting every yardage inside 100 yards, and having enough options to take advantage of the diverse lies found among different golf courses. Wedge lofts, sole grinds, bounce options and club head engineering help make these clubs unique. There are three different bounce options. Low bounce angle, mid bounce angle and high bounce angle. Sand wedge have high bounce options. That is why sand wedge are great for sand or a shaggy fairway. Below, we explain all of these in detail to help you understand what is best for your game.

Pitching Wedge

Pitching Wedges are most commonly sold alongside golf iron sets. These wedges will have lofts that match the gaps between a player’s irons. Marked by a “P” or “PW,” the exact loft of pitching wedges can be found on manufacturers websites. Once a year, golfers should have all of their clubs checked for both loft and lie to ensure that they have not been altered by casual play.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What Degree is a Pitching Wedge?

A: Pitching Wedges range in loft from 46-50 degrees.

Q: What Degree is a Sand Wedge?

A: Sand Wedges are usually 56 degrees, but can also be found in 54 and 58 degrees depending on the bounce angle.

Q: What Is a Gap Wedge?

A: Gap Wedges fill the gap between a sand wedge and a pitching wedge, making it easier to hit full shots when a pitching wedge is too much club and a sand wedge isn’t enough club.

What Golf Pitching Wedge Should You Buy?

Most golfers will play the pitching wedge that comes from their iron sets. However, you may find that choosing specialized options help you gain feel and hit more shots with your pitching wedge. Understanding what to look for in your pitching wedge can help you decide which option is best for you. Don’t be afraid to test different pitching wedges in different loft, bounce, and grind options to see if you can shave some strokes from your game. Thank you, and happy testing!
